The Rotary Club of Kingston shares an interest in protecting our common legacy: the environment.

The Environment Committee strives to stimulate and facilitate actions to protect our environment, motivated by this powerful quote attributed to indigenous peoples, "We do not inherit the earth from our ancestors, we borrow it from our children."

We connect with community groups - including schools, colleges and universities, and City of Kingston - to learn about ongoing green initiatives and look for opportunities for collaboration. 

We promote environmental stewardship in our young people through sponsoring the Frontenac Lennox-Addington Science Fair and awarding prizes for innovative projects on environmental issues.

We organize club activities around Earth Day in April to celebrate our joint efforts in protecting our earth, making it better, and, at the least, doing no harm.
